Google removes EasyRoot app from the Android Market

So much for downloading an application from the Android Market to easily root your Motorola Droid or Droid X. Last week, a new application entered the Android Market promising the ability to root the phone without requiring any heavy lifting for the average user. It seems Google has put a kibosh on that plan, suspending the application from the Android Market. EasyRoot ($0.99) amassed more than a 1,000 downloads before it was removed from the Android Market. Google has not given an official reason for the removal of the app and the developer is still “looking into” the matter. It’s possible that this application runs afoul of the Market rules or a manufacturer’s terms of service, so it cannot be distributed through the Market as a result. Google previously removed some tethering apps from T-Mobile USA versions of the Market because they violated the carrier’s policies. However, the Market suspension hasn’t stopped EasyRoot developer Unstable Apps. A customer who purchased EasyRoot via the Market before it was pulled forwarded this message to us: Thank you for your support of Easy Root by Unstable Apps. We are sorry that Google decided to suspend our application from the Market, but fully intend to continue supporting your purchase. You can download the latest version of Easy Root at: http://www.unstableapps.com/apps/EasyRoot.apk. Anyone who has a Droid or Droid X and wants to get an easier root method can purchase a key for Easy Root directly at the UnstableApps website . PayPal is required to complete the transaction. There have been some reported PayPal errors, but the developer fielding support issues for people affected. [Thanks, Michael!]

$274.00 total charge down to $199?

Well anyway, my title pretty much sums it up.   The order confirmation email about my past iphone order said that I was charged the following: $199 for the iphone 4 16GB Black $18  upgrade fee $57  taxes (Los Angeles, CA) Totaling into $274-275   When i looked into my credit card statement, the transaction was made on the July 27th pending , it was delivered to me on the 28th, then the credit card payment pending was approved and it cleared on the 29th. BUT THE ODD ONE IS , THE CHARGE WAS ONLY $199 dollars. How did that happen? Am I missing something here?

iPhone 4 and Debit Cards

I'm confused... I ordered with a debit card on July 16th. The funds were immedietly taken from my account. A couple days later the transaction was gone and the money was back in my checking account. However, as many of you know I came off of backorder AND shipped yesterday with overnight shipping. I recieved my iPhone 4 today at 2:41 PM.  But my checking account has yes to be re-charged the $210 dollars and some change that the iPhone cost. So Confused...

Any USPS employees received their iPhones thru any other shipping method than USPS

After all this wait it looks like we will be on vacation when the phones arrive.  I don't want them sitting on my door step (waiting for some lucky sole to happen by - thank you fedex!)  We will have our mail on hold, so  IF AT&T does ship it via USPS as they stated in their email   Shipping Carrier: Unless you are an employee of UPS, USPS or DHL, your shipment should ship via FedEx. I'll be okay.  But based on the number of times in this transaction AT&T has given me false information, I just wanted to double check and see if there are any USPS employees out there (on a USPS Premiere account) that received their phone orders through another carries???

Debit Card Process?

I have read some information regarding how AT&T and the Debit purchases are processed for our orders.   On July 3rd, I submitted my order for my 16GB iPhone 4, and was charged via my Bank of America Debit Card that I entered.   The total amount was sucessfully taken from my account and noted as "Processing" on my Bank of American Transaction History.   It was left that way until just a few minutes ago, when my transaction is no longer present on my Transaction History, and my Available Balance now is back to having the amount that was debited from my order.   I have read this is normal, and at the time my item is shipped, I will finally actually be charged, and I have read that this process is done to make sure the full amount is available.   Is this what has happened here? My order still says Back-Ordered and In Progress, and I'm just wanting to make sure that I will still be charged when the item is shipped.   Thanks.

Re: Beware of AT&T’s Data Plan Scam [read before the Moderator pulls this]

smhawk wrote: I share a Friends and Family account with my wife, who last week contacted ATT to make a change to her service (she has an LG phone).   At the end of the transaction, the CSR "noticed" that I had an iPhone.  The CSR said that ATT had a new data plan "that hadn't even made it to the Web site yet."  This new plan was "$15 for unlimited data," and making the change was "a no-brainer."  Wanting to save me money,  my wife made the switch without consulting me.  So, I'm paying $15 a month now, but for the new 200MB plan, certainly not an unlimited one.  (The '$15 unlimited plan' is not now, nor ever will be on the Web site, because it doesn't exist.)  The following day, I  called ATT hoping to reverse the change, but, of course, "that would be impossible."  So, yes, for now I'm saving money because my monthly data tends to run about 150MB.  However, once my iPhone 4 arrives, I expect that to jump substantially, especially if I start streaming Netflix movies, or whatever I decide to indulge in over the next two years.  So, I'm screwed.  Tell your friends and family about this scam, so hopefully they won't be screwed as well. don't assume - misinformation or lack of trainig for a service rep is not a "scam", unless you can prove the csr was deliblerately misleading youe wife with intent then you are posting invalid and untrue information. Curious why your "wife" made a change to your plan without consulting you first.
