Unlimited Data Plan Will Not Be Grandfathered Over To Iphone 4.
Ok, right now I have a Samsung smartphone. Like any good money managing person I say a new plan come available years ago for and unlimited data and messaging plan that would lower my bill. ( I have had smartphones only with ATT for four consecutive years.) Att now tells me that my plan isn't a smartphone plan even though it says that it is. They will not honor my plan for my upgrade to the new Iphone 4. I have spoken to several managers with the Att company. No one will honor my plan which is crap. All over Att's website as well as Apple's website does it say I will be able to maintain my plan. Now that I have ordered my phone, which I have not received. I can not keep my unlimited data plan. I use this my phone all over the world. When I leave the country I switch to Att's international data rate plans in which I always use more then this 2GB allowance. I personally feel that as a business account holder, with four years of service I would be given some support from a company whom which I support with faithful service. Att does not see this my way. I even offered to pay extra if the data plan for the Iphone was more than the $30.00 more a month that I pay now for unlimited data. For a week straight now I have been told no by many different levels of Management from within the Att company. Seeing that my contract will be up in a few months. I am now toying with idea of canceling service with Att and going with a competitor. My reason being, a loyal customer calls with a minor complaint that in my opinion is easily mitigated. No one will budge on the opportunity to keep a long term loyal Customer happy. This is my first complaint about Att service in the four years I have had them. If we can not reach a median. I will have no other choice than to take my business else where. Since my unlimited data plan is as good as there unlimited data plan.... Simply childish on Att's part.

Re: Quite A Few People Switching From iPhone 4 to Captivate…
A whole 5 people are switching? LOL. Seriously the grass is always greener on the other side, or so I'm told. I personally like the iPhone notification system and the way they've implemented background tasks. I want to be able to get alerts without keeping applications running in the background running down the battery. I may make the move to Android at my next upgrade in a year or two, but I'll wait for Android 3.0 at the very least. I'm also interested in seeing how Apple responds to getting passed by Android eventually (again, I think Android 3.0 is going to dust iOS4 unless Apple innovates.) Also windows phone 7 is aimed directly at iPhone market, and it looks very good. Of course the 1.0 implementation will be "missing" some basic features (copy/paste,) so it'll take that platform time to mature with updates. We have great choices going forward. But today I still choose iPhone, and that's a calculated choice. Stick with iPhone 4, you won't be disappointed. That's my opinion.

Sibling Rivalry – HTC EVO vs. HTC Incredible: First Impressions and Hardware Build
This week we are going to take a look at HTC’s two latest superphones, the HTC EVO 4G and the HTC DROID Incredible. These two phones are very similar; both with Android 2.1 with Sense UI, 1Ghz Snapdragon processor, 8MP Camera, and vibrant touchscreens. But there are some differences that may sway potential buyers to one or the other. Today we will look at the build of the phones and gives some first impressions. Overall Build At first glance you will of course notice how much larger the EVO is compared to the Incredible. Although this means more screen space for the EVO, the EVO does not gain any jumps in resolution as both are 800

Google Voice opens up for all (in the U.S., anyway), no invitation …
I still want to do calls on my data plan and not my cell minutes. That's not a huge issue, but it would be nice if they can keep the call quality high. (Its not all that hard to beat cell call quality in my opinion). ...

Is being an iPhone 4 first Adopter going to be worth it?
I am just curious and it makes me rethink my stance on whether I should keep my 3G, upgrade it to iOS4 and hang tight until Apple and ATT can figure things out and the drooling masses get their hands on iPhone first ... and then work out the kinks. It seems with new releases there are always kinks of some sort, unexpected things. I remember getting the first iPhone and what a mess that was (but exciting too). So what do you think? Will it all go smoothly or will the rollout be messy? I've been drooling over the new iPhone 4 since the Gizmodo story broke but researching and reading more and seeing the confusion that seems to be abundant with upgrade questions (my confusion included), I am wondering if upgrading the OS and living with that for a time while watching the fray is the more prudent option. What's your opinion on the topic? :smileywink:

What to do with old Iphone 3gs?
So I plan to upgrade next week to the Iphone4. My wife and I signed contracts last summer, with me getting 3GS and she just getting a standard cheap cell phone, which now is currently having issues. My ideal plan is since she is ineligible for discounted upgrade pricing, to transfer over to her my 3GS and for me then to get the Iphone4. Anyone see any issues with her just getting my old phone. I can't imagine that it is an issue, but unsure since her phone is less than a year old. Thanks in advance for your opinion.

Buyer Beware
I’m posting this comment for the benefit of those considering an Apple phone and because AT&T’s business practices are shameful. If you are considering an AT&T phone plan I strongly urge you to do your homework before you purchase! I work in the Seattle, WA area for a large company and having the benefit of an employee discount, I decided to purchase the iPhone. After a brief initial meeting with the AT&T rep in our company, I left with a rate plan that seemed reasonable. I later went to the AT&T store to complete the sale and purchase the phone. To my surprise, I found that the same plan was $50 more than I was quoted originally, $50 more than my colleagues were paying and without the features they were enjoying on the same plan with the same phone. I explained that situation to the sales rep at the store expecting an ensuing discussion about a more reasonable plan. Instead I found that the sales rep was more interested in belittling and questioning the integrity of me and my colleagues more than he was in selling a phone. To further make the situation worse, when I left the AT&T store (without a phone) I stopped by the Apple store to check out the new iPad. While there, I stopped by the iPhone display and to my amazement found advertised on the shelf the AT&T phone plan that I was originally quoted being $50 less. This was the same phone plan that the AT&T sales rep swore to me was not available or ever offered in the AT&T network. He continued to explain to me that anyone who said differently is either ignorant or a liar. By comparison, AT&T’s service plans are not more competitive than their peers in any way, and I can say that their sales reps are by far the worst I’ve ever experienced. In my opinion this situation boarders on fraud and at best is the worst business practices I know of within the cell phone market. Considering this situation and AT&T’s decision to move away from unlimited internet access, I would urge anyone considering AT&T’s services to shop somewhere else even if that means living without the iPhone.
