iphone 3g/edge question

I have updated my iphone 4 to IOS 4.0.2 On my iphone 3gs whenever i turned off the 3g the bars went to 1 then they went up again and 3g turned to E and same with turning on 3g the bars dropped to 1 and went up again and 3g turned on. But with the iphone 4 i turn off the 3g the bars dont go down to 1 and then go back up they just stay the same then the 3g turns off and changes to edge.. My point is why doesnt the iphone 4's bar drop to 1 then go up ? Is this normal or a problem ??

iPhone 3GS unable to send or receive texts or view videos

Bought 2 iphone 3gs phones in March.   As of last week, one phone can not receive or send texts from anyone, not even from the other iphone.   The other phone can not view videos (you tube or from safari) never works off 3G may work off wifi, about 1 out of 5 times.   Already power cycled both phones more than once and 'reset the network settings'   Called at&t customer service and they has us put them in airplane mode, power cycle them, etc. and still neither functions as intended.   Please advise.

thinking of iphone 3gs or iphone 4

is the 8gb iphone 3gs big enough? ill be using my actual ipod for music, so the phone will be for everything else (apps, photo, etc)   also, the iphone 4. ive heard there are problems. are the iphone 4s in the online store right now the ones that dont have these problems?

question about the sim card

so when I first bought the iphone 4 i called so they can active the micro sim card which they did and my old sim card(from iphone 3gs) became deactivated, so now I am planning to return the iphone 4 and bought a new 3g sim card for my iphone 3gs since you cant re-use the old sim card that was deactivated. My question is can i called to activate it or do i have to do it at the AT&T store> ?

Completely dead after error 1602 – upgrading to OS 4

I followed all the instructions given on the apple website to update the OS of my iphone 3gs to 4.0. I downloaded itunes 9.2, backed up my phone and then clicked on the update and then got an error after a long time ( more then 60 mins). if i recollect it was error 1602 (or was it 1612) but now my phone is stuck. i just see the apple logo and then an image of itunes and a USB drive. I am stuck here.. please help

Question about upgrading to iphone4

Ok, here's my situation, I'm in a family plan with 5 lines, recently I bought an iphone 3gs from eBay, and I was forced to use AT&T's data plan which is fine for me, but after I checked the eligibility for upgrading to iphone4 it said that my voice plan would be $60 dollar. Does this mean I have to upgrade to this plan or I can stick with my current lower voice plan?

iphone 3gs upgrading to iphone 4 question

OK so I have and iphone 3gs and my current 2yr contract ends in September of 2011.   So I tried that *639# thing and this is what the text told me word for word "As a valued customer, we can offer you an upgrade with a new 2-yr commitment and an $18 upgrade fee"   now all I want to know does that mean I can get the iphone 4 for $199 or $399?
