Samsung Epic 4G: Rooted before Release – Download Links and Tutorial
Another day, another Android root to tell you about. This one is pretty significant though, as it is the Samsung Epic 4G , which will go on sale later today from Sprint. Will you root your device after purchasing? As reported from Phandroid , the Samsung Epic 4G follows other Galaxy S phones with a straight forward and easy to install root method. Credit goes to SDX for achieving the root, you can head to their forum here for a full set of download links and installation guide. What does this mean for the Epic 4G? Well, just like the Droid X, it means that a custom ROM may become available in the future, once developers have had time to play around with the device. The Droid X custom ROM took a while, but it’s finally out – we wonder how long it will take for the Epic 4G to follow suit. What are your thoughts on this? Are you planning to root your device or not? More On: samsung , Samsung Epic 4G , sprint For more coverage: Follow Product Reviews on Twitter Become a Fan on Facebook

Re: Older version of Facebook for iPhone
This worked GREAT. I looked in my trash and saw the old facebook ipa file.. put it on the desktop. Opened Itunes and looked at apps.. DELETED the facebook app. Plug my iphone in, message comes up asking if you want to transfer the facebook from PHONE to Itunes -- say NO.. again say NO.. then sync phone.. there will be no facebook in Ituenes or on your phone now. then double click the ipa on the desktop.. it will add facebook (the old version) back into itunes.. now sync phone again.. now you have old facebook on your phone and ta-dah. Good luck.

T-Mobile G2: New slide and tilt photos confuse
Over the past few days more details have started to come up about the upcoming T-Mobile G2, which is to be developed by HTC. However, it is these latest detailed images that has caused much confusion, as it first looked as though the Android handset would offers slide and tilt, but it seems that this was only pulled up so that we could see the inner-workings. When Engadget first spotted the tilt and slide feature they assumed that the G2 would not need a kickstand, so you can imagine how upset Chris Ziegler and the rest of us are knowing that we were all mislead. Alan Ng pointed to the fact that the T-Mobile G2 looks to be an HTC Vision in Disguise , and he certainly has a point. He also looked at possible release dates – is there really a chance that the handset could be released next month? If so then 2010 would certainly be the year of Android – we just wonder what 2011 will offer? Back on the 18th T-Mobile launched their G2 website , for potential buyers to register their interest with the upcoming smartphone. Will you consider purchasing the successor to the original G1, the Android handset that started it all? Dell Streak: Next Update will be Android 2.2 Froyo
We have some more details on the Dell Streak smartphone/tablet device now, as it has been reported that Dell are planning to upgrade the device straight to Android 2.2 Froyo, skipping the update to Android 2.1 Eclair. If you didn’t already know, the Dell Streak currently ships with Android 1.6, meaning that the device is starved of a few features which are now present on devices such as the Motorola Droid 2 and HTC EVO. As Engadget reports, the Dell Streak is now available to buy, either on contract with AT&T, or unlocked for $549 – although the Streak will still be SIM-locked to AT&T. For those of you who already have one, this is good news as Froyo may come sooner than you think. Let us know your thoughts on this. Motorola Droid 2: Early Upgrade offer from Verizon
Are you desperately hoping to get your hands on the recently released Motorola Droid 2 on Verizon? If you are, you’ll be very interested to know that Verizon has just introduced an early upgrade offer to try and get customers to upgrade to their latest device. As reported from Phandroid , the Motorola Droid 2 is now available to upgrade at the normal price for anyone with less than half a year left on their current contract. While this is obviously bad news for those who just bought a Droid X and already want to jump ship, it is great for those with the original Droid and want to see what the successor has to offer. It is an unsurprising move by Verizon, but also pretty good news for Verizon customers. The Motorola Droid 2 offers some pretty juicy specs, including Android 2.2 and Adobe Flash 10.1 straight from the box. Will you be upgrading or not?
