iPhone 3GS no ringtones
I bought an iPhone 3GS on Friday, July 9, 2010, and didn't notice but there are no ring notifications. No speakerphone, and no preview of ringtones. The mute button is not flipped, the volume is turned up, I've plugged and unplugged a set of headphones, and restored the phone to default. It came installed with iOS4. Compared to my wife's 3G, I see no "Notifications" selection in Settings, and when I select a ringtone from the default ones that came on the phone, no sound comes out. Anyone have a clue what is going on?

I'm trying to play team deathmatch with my friend on Call of Duty: World at War. He's level 1, I'm level 60 (he can't do a clan tag). I have all the maps, he has just the default maps. Is there any way we can ensure we get into the same ...

Lost Default Photo App on iPhone
I accidentally deleted the default Photo App on my iPhone and have tried to recvoer beut can't find it anywhere through iTunes to restore? I thought I could go to iTunes when the phone is connected and bring up the Apps and would have found that it was just simply unchecked - then re-check it - sync my apps and be done. Not so. Ringtone alerts for groups problem–several contacts share a phone number, displays wrong one!
I've set up a special ringtone for a group that includes my wife and me. We both have the same landline phone number (natch!) and I'd like the phone to display her name when she calls my cell. Unfortunately, it keeps showing my name instead of hers! I've tried various tricks, unassign to family, reassign, try a new group, etc. Sometimes, I've gotten it to show a 3rd number "Owner of phone" that has our landline number, too. But it still doesn't show her number. I did make sure that our landline number is her default. Now, a major thing I tried was to remove me and "owner" from the family group... but then it doesn't ring when we call from our landline phone--and still shows one of the other contacts! Any ideas? Suggestions? If I haven't explained this fully, I'm game to try again. It's a real puzzler! Oh, if it matters, and it might, the phone is a Nokia 6085.

Can a 3GS/32G iPhone be "completely" backed up?
I have a 3GS iPhone with 32G of memory and "16" springboards. Previously, I had reset the phone as it "lost" the music library (14.2G). In doing so, the default 11 'boards were installed, knocking off 5, although it found and properly identified the 14.2 as music. I have not (and don't intend to) unlock (jailbreak) this phone but would still like to get a "full" backup (OP, HD, user files, contacts, music, apps as well as their configs and anything not mentioned. I understand an "image" can be copied, but this method requires JB. Any ideas? I appreciate anything offered. {:> ) claypineapple

How is PIN2 used on Nokia 6350 or any phone with SIM, etc.
I just upgraded my SIM card (an ATT tech advised me that I needed a more modern one). No charge. Most phone settings were the same, but the security settings were different (makes sense, since they are SIM related). I had to enter a new PIN code. The guy at the ATT store didn't know the default, so we guessed a few times and then had to look up the PUK. That worked. Next, I noticed that the PIN2 code was on. Didn't know the existing pin, so we guessed a few times and then had to phone in for PUK2 code. That worked. Note, we should have looked on this board, but you would think that the guy in the store would know. So, now I know the PIN and PIN2. My phone says PIN2 security is ON. What does that mean? I treid to turn it off, but it doesn't let me, even with the new PIN2 entered. Neither the guy at the store, nor the online person knew anything about PIN2. What's it for? What kind of security options can I set. Thanks.

Gmail/Hotmail Questions
So I found out from yall that Hotmail doesn't work very well on the iPhone (no folders, etc) so I set up a Gmail account and have all my Hotmail automatically forwarded to it. It works great... except for one thing. How do I send an email from within my Gmail but have it sent BY my Hotmail address each time? I know I can click on the From address from within the email and switch it over to my Hotmail, but is there a way to make this permanent? Like how it is on my computer (all emails from within Gmail are sent from my Hotmail address). I tried setting my Default account to Hotmail and going into Gmail and sending an email, but it still shows the Gmail address. TIA!

Google’s AdWords Dashboard Gets Optimized for Android Handsets
Earlier this week Google announced their new AdWords for mobile for Android, iPhone, and Palm Pre devices. Designed to streamline the AdWords experience, the mobile website gives users quick and easy access to alerts and statistics and allows for snappy changes while your away from the PC. It's recommended that you log into the website from a computer prior to going mobile. This way, you can set up preferences, flag keywords, and create reports you want to keep an eye on. For instance, it's possible to create an alert for when your campaign has reached a specific percentage of its daily budget. If you need the full on AdWords experience, it's as simple as switching to desktop version at the bottom of the screen. As of now, the new AdWords for mobile is the default setup for a small percentage of English language advertisers. Down the road additional advertisers and languages will be supported. If you just can't wait, you can always head to http://adwords.google.com/dashboard/Dashboard and check it out. Might We Suggest... Motorola i1 Tidbits Emerge
A few more details have emerged for the upcoming Motorola i1 handset. The first iDEN smartphone to run Android is said to be arriving with a 5 megapixel camera now instead of the 3.2 we were originally expecting. Additionally, rumors put the default browser in the hands of Opera Mini instead of the one we've all come to expect. Being this this device is not your true Google Android experience, handset makers can add what they see fit to the phone. Check back with AndroidGuys in the future for more updates as we gather them!
